Originally from New Orleans, Ashley Authement has been playing upright bass and making a name for herself around the front range since 2002. Drawn mostly to divergent styles of bluegrass and funk, Ashley’s non-conformist musical tastes lend themselves particularly well to the bohemian tendencies of the Gristle Gals.

Mandi Malone was destined to be on stage from day one. She grew up playing in her family’s bluegrass band and never thought about doing anything else. With an eclectic taste in music and a drive to find a new sound, her violin style is constantly evolving. A gypsy at heart, Mandi has played with many touring bands, but is finally at home with the Gristle Gals.

Nicki Handy comes to the Gristle Gals by way of Massachusetts, a bunch of instruments, and many bluegrass picks. Her first piano performance at age 7 nearly ended her career in music when she stopped in the middle of Pretty Little Daisy. Alas, she commenced from the beginning and prevented her mother from having a heart attack. She’s been in Colorado playing bluegrass, old time, and alt country for the past 4 years in bands and on porches.
