We are super excited to have Raul (bass) and Nick (drums) on board with us. They are both top-notch multi-instrumentalists that bring experience, professionalism, fun, and a deep love of music to whatever they do. And they are handsome gents, to boot! (For now, we refer to them as the Gadabout Guys... we'll see if it sticks!) We can't wait to see what new paths we can forge with their creativity and talent beside us. We had a great weekend playing our favorite place in Estes Park - The Rock Inn - on Friday the 13th and taking the mini road trip to Breckenridge to play for Community Clean Up Day on the 14th at the amazing Riverwalk Center. On Thursday we played a set at the awesome Mercury Cafe and got to hear Nick (on guitar and drums - simultaneously) and Raul (bass, vocals, guitar) play an excellent set with The Willows. We are looking forward to the next gig! Read on for more info about the fellas! Nick Schmidt is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter based out of Denver, CO. Aside from being a member of the Gristle Gals, he also plays drums in the band "Captain Dirk" (www.myspace.com/captaindirkdenver ), guitar in "The Willows", and has a solo project titled "Tatum Post" (http://www.myspace.com/tatumpost) Raul Quintanilla (Guitar, Vocals) came from Peru and spent 4 years in Bozeman Montana, where he became familiar with new genres of music such as Country, Bluegrass, and Jam. Looking for more musical challenges he moved to Colorado where he joined forces with some other musicians and created the band "Rojos Calientes" (www.myspace.com/rojoscalientes). Check back for some new recordings. Thanks for listening! |
