"Django Reinhardt would have loved it....[they] know how to tear it up on stage, and can jam with the best bands out there. If you're up for a little musical diversity, jonesing for a new sound, you'll want to put this outfit on your radar; you'll be glad you did..." - Charlie Sullivan, Colorado Music Buzz
"They describe their sound as “gypsy grass” but I recommend taking a listen for yourself because I don’t believe that term does justice to the depth of their music." - Josh Darnell, Gin & Bear It - Tales from Both Sides of the Bar
"OK, the group plays Celtic tinged folk music (complete with fiddler and mandolin player), but don’t be fooled, The Gristle Gals have more in common with riot girls than Celtic women. Beneath the beautiful melodies and bad-ass fiddle playing is a pulsing rebellious streak that’s pure rock..."
- Charles O'Mara, UCD Advocate
"The first time I heard the band I felt like I was simultaneously transported into Romania, Russia, and Appalachia. At the same time it felt like we were all part of a Vaudeville variety show. " - Central City resident Hillary Peden

And So It Was...
And so it was that on a day Within a month within some year A day washed from our memories by Endless waves of amber beer
T'was in a place where people go Where boards do creak and glasses clink A place where weary souls seek peace As side by side, alone they drink
And on this day within some year, the reverie was broke
A chord rang forth, and fraught it was With pain and hope in equal parts Those saddened souls raised up their heads To better hear what filled their hearts
Then above, a single note Soared high upon the horse's tail All sorrow suddenly forgot Spirits lifted like a veil
And swooping down that single note Ushered in the tune And the song became the answer And ushered out the gloom
And so it was that on a day Within a month within some year The gypsy hearted troubadours Forestalled the falling of a tear
And as they drew their melodies They found a calling higher yet That, to ease the weary souls And for a time, forget
